Have you always caught yourself wishing that you could submit that perfect photo that you took last summer into a photo contest? Now’s your chance!
Rec Programs is hosting a photo contest beginning this coming Friday. It’s FREE, all you have to do is send your favorite picture to lmhill@plymouth.edu. We’ll print it for you and hang it up. Students will be given the chance to vote for their favorite picture – and the winner will receive a great prize!
This contest will go on until Friday, March 13th. The winner will be announced the following week when we return from break.
When you look through your photographs, please choose a picture that is one of you or somone you know doing something active – such as biking, swimming or playing a sport. We also would like to encourage pictures that were taken during the summer.

Hello everyone!
It is clear with all this white snow outside our windows that winter is in full force! That means it is time to enjoy it before spring comes knocking on winter’s door!
I just wanted to remind everyone that Rec Programs does rent out snow shoes and cross country skiing equipment.
The prices are as follows:
Cross Country Ski package (Ski, boots and poles) – $7.00 day or $12 for the weekend
Snow Shoes – $3.00 for the day or $5 for the weekend
It is certainly well worth it to take a walk down to the HUB gym and check out the equipment waiting for you!

The season of floor hockey has begun and it is running successfully. Floor hockey is taking place in the courtroom in the Hub from Monday to Thursday from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. There are many teams that have signed up to make it interesting and exciting to watch to see what team will win it all. Some teams are co-ed while others are not. But from what it looks like every team is determined to win and most importantly have fun while playing alongside their teammates.

The treadmills in the HUB fitness room have cool screens. The screen can show you running on a track in three different places. The track that is displayed on the screen is neat because it shows you how far you are running on the track. However, last month one of the screens was broken. We do not know who did it, but the cost of a new screeen is about $1,100.00. What do you think we should do?

As the winter season sneaks up on us, you’re are beginning to fret about final projects, group meetings and tests to study for along with the overall stress of pleasing everyone over the holiday season. The last thing you need to worry about would be getting sick and having to juggle more balls than you can handle.
In the Fitness Room, Rec Programs has taken precaution. Throughout the fall, it seemed that paper towels were always running low, or there was no spray in the bottles. Not to worry, new this week, we’ve installed a “Gym Valet” and facecloth on every machine on the cardiovascular side of the fitness room. This will allow every machine to have an individual spray bottle and cloth. This will make it much easier to spray down and clean your machine after you use it to help from spreading those nasty viruses!
We’ll try this out to see how it works. Please give us your feedback and let us know how you like it!

I am not sure how the first basketball got there. I do think that the 2nd and 3rd ball got there by patrons trying to retrieved the first one. Anyway, if you recognize any of these balls located in the HUB courtroom rafters, please contact the office of Recreation Programs.
